

Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has completed the approval procedures for the first private vehicle technical inspection station in the Sultanate of Oman, which marks a significant step in strengthening public-private sector partnerships and enhancing the delivery of vehicle inspection services.
According to information released by the ROP, the newly approved station is located at the Oman Automobile Association premises in Muscat Governorate and will operate in cooperation with al Maha Technical Inspection Company.
The station will provide vehicle technical inspection services in accordance with approved standards and technical specifications, contributing to improved road safety and enhancing the quality and efficiency of services offered to motorists.
As part of the preparations for the launch of operations, employees at the facility have undergone specialised training and qualification programmes in vehicle technical inspection at the Traffic Safety Institute in Muscat Governorate. The training aims to ensure that all services are delivered in line with the approved regulatory and technical requirements.
The move reflects the ROP’s ongoing efforts to modernise service delivery and expand access to vehicle inspection facilities, while supporting partnerships with the private sector to improve customer experience.
